BIHR, BRCT, GHRD, NHRDA Jointly Celebrates the International Human Rights Day-2009

Bangladesh Institute of Human Rights (BIHR), Bangladesh Rehabilitation Centre for Trauma Victims (BRCT), Naogaon Human Rights Development Association (NHRDA) and Global Human Rights Defence (GHRD) jointly celebrates International Human Rights Day 2009( 10 December) all around the country. As the part of celebration it organizes a human chain with more than 200 people of deferent profession including NGO leader & activist, student from different institution, lawyer, and journalist in front of High Court of Supreme Court around at 10.00 am. It also organizes a rally from in front of High Court of Supreme Court to Dhaka Reporters Unity at 10.45 am. Further more, it organizes a discussion meeting in the lights of the theme of international human rights day 2009 “ embrace diversity end discrimination” at VIP Lounge, Dhaka Reporters Unity from 11.00 am to 13.00 pm. Moderating by Adv. Shahanur Islam, Programme Manager for Legal & Human Rights of BIHR, Ms. Mahfuza Akram Chowdhury, Executive Director of BRCT presents the Key note paper. Mr. Kamrul Huda, Assistant Director of BEDO and Dr. Akramul Haque, Medical Consultant of BRCT take part to discuss on the paper. Beside this, others participants also take the part of discussion spontaneously which make the vent fruitful. The meeting presided over by Adv. Nazmul H. Shah Chowdhury, President of BIHR. Later, a Street Drama by Dhaka University Natto Beth has been showed in front of Shaheed Meenar around at 3.30 pm as the part of the celebration of International Human Rights day 2009.
