Urgent Action: Order by National Human Rights Commission regarding to case arbitrary arrest, maltreatment and harassment of Mr. Shahanur Islam, Executive Director, BIHR by Policemen.











National Human Rights Commission of Bangladesh has taken the allegation regarding to case arbitrary arrest, maltreatment and harassment of Mr. Shahanur Islam, Executive Director,  BIHR  by Policemen as cognizance and today issues an order to commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) to take proper action by impartial investigation by February 22, 2010.

Here specially mention that  Mr. Islam was arbitrary arrested, iltreated and harassed Tafizul Islam ( Police) along with other seven to eight policemen under ramna police station, DPM on December 23, 2010. After the incident of violtion Bangladesh Institute of Human Rights issue Urgent action to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Chief Justice of Bangladesh Supreme Court, Chairman of National Human Rights Commission, Inspector General of Police, Police Commissioner of DMP on December 27, 2010 requesting to take prompt action against the alleged perpetrators.
