These arrests, which occurred solely based on the girls' sexual orientation and their same-sex relationship, are a grave violation of their rights and dignity.

According to reports from various online newspapers in Bangladesh, the two lesbian teenagers were apprehended from the Brajabaksa area of Helatla Union in Kalaroa Upazila on January 4, 2024, by the members of the Kalaroa Police Station. One of the arrested girls is Mahima Khatun (17), daughter of Abdul Mannan from Idanpur village in the Doara Bazar police station of Sunamganj district, and the other is Rubina Khatun (18), daughter of Anisur Rahman from Brajbaksa village in Helatla Union of Kalaroa Upazila in Satkhira.

Paris, France; February 20, 2024: The France-based rights organization JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF) has expressed deep concern and anger over the arrest of a sexual minority lesbian girl from Dhaka, who has been arrested and sent to jail custody on false and fabricated kidnapping charges in Barishal, solely because of her sexual orientation and same-sex relationship.

According to news published in various newspapers in Bangladesh, Mim Akhter, the daughter of Sahidul Islam from Bahadurpur village in Muladi upazila of Barisal, fell in love with Rober Liza, a jim trainer and a former cricket player of the National Women's Cricket Team of Bangladesh. Later, she divorced her husband, as she was forced into marriage by her parents about five years ago. On January 25, 2024, she finally ran away with her girlfriend, Rober Liza, for the third time after repeated attempts and married her. However, her girlfriend, Rober Liza, was arrested in the kidnapping case filed by her mother. Police arrested her girlfriend, Rober Liza, along with her from Dhaka on February 12, 2024.

According to reliable sources, on September 24, 2023, in the Ramphal Union of Bagerhat district, a 45-year-old Hindu minority woman named Rupali Das was involved in a verbal altercation with an Islamic woman named Momena Begum when she went to fetch water at a tube well. Momena Begum, with malicious intent, accused Rupali Das of insulting Islam by using offensive language.

According to information received from various news media, the victim's family, and reliable sources, it has been learned that Kazi Rubayet Hasan Sayem, a 46-year-old member of the Dhaka District Bar Association and former co-organizing secretary of Narayanganj Metropolitan BNP, was arrested on the night of March 24th, around 10 pm. He was apprehended by the Narayanganj District Detective Police (DB) on charges of using offensive language to abuse the mother of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh.

চট্টগ্রামে দিনের পিংকি হিজরা—রাতের মাদক সম্রাজ্ঞী

নোয়াখালীর মাইজদীর হাউজিং এস্টেটের স্বপ্নচূড়া আবাসিক ফ্ল্যাট থেকে আপত্তিকর অবস্থায় এক আইনজীবীকে গ্রেফতার করেছে পুলিশ।

গ্রেফতার মাছুম আরাফাত (৪০) নিজেকে জেলা জজ আদালতের আইনজীবী হিসেবে পরিচয় দিয়েছেন। তার বাড়ি সুবর্ণচরে। থাকেন জেলা শহরের ল'ইয়ার্স কলোনিতে।

যৌতুকের মামলায় আইনজীবী গ্রেফতার

নারায়ণগঞ্জের ফতুল্লায় যৌতুকের দাবিতে স্ত্রীকে নির্যাতনের ঘটনায় আদালতে করা মামলায় ঢাকা জজ কোর্টের অ্যাডভোকেট রাশেদুল আলমকে (৩২) গ্রেফতার করেছে পুলিশ।রোববার (৭ আগস্ট) সকালে তাকে ফতুল্লার পাগলা পূর্ব মুসলিম পাড়ার নিজ বাড়ি থেকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়।

গ্রেফতার রাশেদুল আলম ওই এলাকার এম এ হাফিজ আহম্মেদের ছেলে। এর আগে যৌতুকের দাবিতে স্ত্রীকে নির্যাতনের ঘটনায় নারায়ণগঞ্জ আদালতে রাশেদুলের স্ত্রী উর্মি চৌধুরী মামলা করেন।

৫ম শ্রেণির ছাত্রকে বলাৎকারের অভিযোগে মাদরাসা শিক্ষক আটক

ফেনীর দাগনভূঁঞায় ৫ম শ্রেণির মাদরাসাছাত্রকে বলাৎকারের অভিযোগে মাদরাসা শিক্ষককে আটক করেছে পুলিশ। বুধবার (২৭ জুলাই) রাতে উপজেলার পূর্বচন্দ্রপুর ইউনিয়ন থেকে তাকে আটক করা হয়।

আটক শিক্ষকের নাম আবদুল্লাহ আল মাসুম (২২)। অভিযুক্ত শিক্ষক নোয়াখালীর বেগমগঞ্জ উপজেলার আমান উল্লাহপুর ইউনিয়নের খেমচন্দ্রপুর গ্রামের মৃত আবুল কাশেমের ছেলে। বলাৎকারের ঘটনায় রাতেই শিশুটির নানি বাদী হয়ে থানায় মামলা দায়ের করেছেন।

৩ আইনজীবীর বিরুদ্ধে মামলা প্রত্যাহারের দাবি বার কাউন্সিল নেতাদের

বাগেরহাটে ধর্ষণ মামলায় আইনজীবী গ্রেফতার

বাগেরহাটে ধর্ষণ মামলায় ফকির ইফতেখারুল ইসলাম রানা (৫৫) নামের এক আইনজীবীকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে পুলিশ। শুক্রবার (০১ এপ্রিল) রাত সাড়ে ৭টার দিকে শহরের পৌরসভার খারদ্বার এলকার নিজ বাড়ি থেকে পুলিশ তাকে গ্রেফতার করে। এর আগে শুক্রবার (১ এপ্রিল) দুপুর ১২টার দিকে ধর্ষণের অভিযোগ এনে বাগেরহাট মডেল থানায় মামলা করেন এক নারী।

ডিজিটাল নিরাপত্তা আইনের মামলায় আইনজীবী গ্রেফতার

বাগেরহাটের মোরেলগঞ্জ উপজেলায় ডিজিটাল নিরাপত্তা আইনের মামলায় গোলাম কিবরিয়া তারিক তালুকদার নামে এক আইনজীবীকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে। মঙ্গলবার (১৫ মার্চ) রাতে মোরেলগঞ্জ বাজার থেকে তাকে গ্রেফতার করে পুলিশ।

মামলার বাদী মোরেলগঞ্জ সরকারি সিরাজ উদ্দিন মেমোরিয়াল কলেজের অধ্যক্ষ প্রফেসর নীতিশ বিশ্বাস। গ্রেফতার তারিক তালুকদার ওই কলেজের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা মরহুম ডা. আব্দুল খালেক তালুকদারের ছেলে। তিনি মোরেলগঞ্জ পৌরসভার বাসিন্দা।

এজাহারে বলা হয়েছে, অ্যাডভোকেট গোলাম কিবরিয়া তারিক সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যম ফেসবুকে অধ্যক্ষ নীতিশ বিশ্বাস, তার পরিবার ও শিক্ষক-কর্মচারীদের নিয়ে কুরুচিপূর্ণ স্ট্যাটাস দিয়ে আসছেন। এতে শিক্ষক ও তাদের পরিবারসহ কলেজের সুনাম ক্ষুণ্ন হচ্ছে।

বঙ্গবন্ধুকে নিয়ে কটূক্তি করার অভিযোগে আইনজীবী গ্রেফতার

বঙ্গবন্ধু ও তার কন্যা প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা, শেখ রেহানা এবং সাংসদ মজিবুর রহমান চৌধুরীকে (নিক্সন) নিয়ে সামাজিক যোগাযোগ মাধ্যম ফেসবুকে কটূক্তি করার অভিযোগে ফরিদপুরে শাহনেওয়াজ হাসান (৪০) নামে এক আইনজীবীকে গ্রেফতার করেছে পুলিশ।

বৃহস্পতিবার (৩ মার্চ) দিবাগত রাতে ফরিদপুরের ভাঙ্গা কোর্টপাড় এলাকা থেকে ডিজিটাল নিরাপত্তা আইনে অ্যাডভোকেট শাহনেওয়াজকে গ্রেফতার করে পুলিশ। গ্রেফতারকৃত ব্যক্তি ভাঙ্গা আদালতে আইনজীবী হিসেবে কর্মরত রয়েছেন।

'চুক্তিতে' বদলি কারাবাস, আসামির আইনজীবী রিমান্ডে

চুক্তিতে একজনের বদলে আরেকজনের সাজা খাটার মামলায় প্রকৃত আসামির আইনজীবী শরীফ শাহরিয়ার সিরাজীকে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদে এক দিনের রিমান্ডে নেওয়ার আদেশ দিয়েছেন আদালত। শুক্রবার ঢাকার মহানগর হাকিম আরাফাতুল রাকিব এ আদেশ দেন। বদলি কারাবাসের এ ঘটনা ফাঁস হয়ে গেলে রাজধানীর কোতোয়ালি থানায় করা জালিয়াতির মামলায় গত বৃহস্পতিবার পুলিশ আইনজীবী শরীফকে আটক করে।
