Lutful Kabir Nowroz, 58, served as the Public Prosecutor (PP) of the Anti-Corruption Special Tribunal in Khulna, southern Bangladesh, dedicating his life to upholding justice and fighting against corruption. His sudden disappearance and subsequent discovery in the pond have shocked the entire legal community and brought immense sorrow to all those who knew and worked with him.

JusticeMakers Bangladesh, a prominent human rights organization, expresses deep concern and condemns the arrest of lawyer Kazi Rubayet Hasan Sayem under the draconian Digital Security Act 2018. The organization strongly urges the immediate release of Mr. Sayem and calls for the withdrawal of the fabricated charges against him without any preconditions.

According to information received from various news media, the victim's family, and reliable sources, it has been learned that Kazi Rubayet Hasan Sayem, a 46-year-old member of the Dhaka District Bar Association and former co-organizing secretary of Narayanganj Metropolitan BNP, was arrested on the night of March 24th, around 10 pm. He was apprehended by the Narayanganj District Detective Police (DB) on charges of using offensive language to abuse the mother of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh.

জাল দলিল করে সরকারি জমি (অর্পিত সম্পত্তি) আত্মসাতের অভিযোগে এক আইনজীবীসহ ১০ জনের বিরুদ্ধে স্বপ্রণোদিত হয়ে দুটি মামলা করেছেন নাটোরের একটি আদালত। আসামিদের বিরুদ্ধে গ্রেপ্তারি পরোয়ানাও জারি করা হয়েছে।

Law Society of England and Wales Raises Concerns Over Threats to Bangladeshi Lawyer Shahanur Islam

The Law Society of England and Wales, a professional body representing approximately 200,000 solicitors, has expressed deep concerns regarding the ongoing threats and harassment faced by Bangladeshi lawyer Shahanur Islam. On 16 November , in a letter addressed to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh, the Law Society called for immediate action to safeguard Mr. Islam and uphold the rule of law.

Shahanur Islam serves as the Secretary General of the Bangladesh Institute of Human Rights and Justice Makers Bangladesh. Throughout his career, he has been an ardent defender of the rights of ethnic, religious, and LGBTI minorities, as well as opposition politicians. Regrettably, he has been a target of multiple threats, intimidation, physical assault, and arrest dating back to 2008.

ম্যাজিস্ট্রেটের নাম ভাঙিয়ে অর্থ আত্মসাৎ, আইনজীবীর বিরুদ্ধে মামলা

স্ত্রীর করা যৌতুক মামলায় খালাসের কথা বলে ম্যাজিস্ট্রেটের নাম ভাঙিয়ে আসামির কাছ থেকে সাড়ে ৪ লাখ টাকা আত্মসাতের অভিযোগে মো. জুয়েল মুন্সি সুমন নামে এক আইনজীবীকে আটক করা হয়েছে। এ ঘটনায় আজ বুধবার রাজধানীর কোতোয়ালি থানায় ওই আইনজীবীর বিরুদ্ধে ভুক্তভোগী আসামি বাদী হয়ে মামলা করেছেন।
