বাদী পক্ষের মামলা চালানোর প্রেক্ষিতে সিলেট আদালত পাড়ায় আইনজীবী এডভোকেট সামসুজ্জামান জামান কুপিয়ে হত্যার চেষ্টার অভিযোগে কামাল আহমদ নামে এক যুবককে আটক করেছে পুলিশ। মঙ্গলবার (২৭ সেপ্টেম্বর) দুপুরে সিলেট মহানগর দায়রা জজ আদালত ভবনের (৮তলায়) এ ঘটনা ঘটে।

Shahanur told to Soja Kotha that recently on 25th August and 6th September 2022, he received separate two death threats messages along with his wife and kid over his mobile phone.

দেশের ৬৫ শতাংশ হিজড়া জনগোষ্ঠীর সদস্য জেন্ডারভিত্তিক নির্যাতনের শিকার। তাদের পারিবারিক সম্পত্তি থেকেও বঞ্চিত করা হয়। এ ছাড়া ৭০ শতাংশ কর্মক্ষেত্রে নির্যাতনের শিকার হয়ে থাকে। 

মঙ্গলবার (২০ সেপ্টেম্বর) রাজধানীর লালমাটিয়ায় বেসরকারি সংগঠন বন্ধু সোশ্যাল ওয়েলফেয়ার সোসাইটি আয়োজিত হিজড়া ও ট্রান্সজেন্ডার জনগোষ্ঠীর প্রতি বৈষম্য রোধে পলিসি ব্রিফের (খসড়া) চ‚ড়ান্তকরণে মতবিনিময় সভায় এ তথ্য উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে। সভায় ‘কাউকে বাদ দিয়ে নয়’ এই ¯স্লোগানে তৃতীয় লিঙ্গের মানুষের জীবনযাপনের কথা তুলে ধরা হয়েছে।

Shahanur Islam, a prominent human rights lawyer and gay rights campaigner in Bangladesh received repeated death threats SMS over his mobile phone.

Recently on 25th August and 6th September 2022, he received separate two death threats messages along with his wife and kid over his mobile phone. 

On 25th August 2022 around at 10:17 pm BST, Mr. Islam received threats message in English language over his phone from an unidentified number. The message states that if you don’t stop fighting aims to establishment of homosexual rights in BD, immediately you will be killed along with your family members brutally.

তৃতীয় লিঙ্গের ব্যক্তিদের সঙ্গে হকারদের সংঘর্ষ

রাজধানীর পল্টনে হকারদের সঙ্গে তৃতীয় লিঙ্গের ব্যক্তিদের সংঘর্ষের ঘটনায় ছয়জন আহত হয়েছে। বৃহস্পতিবার (১৫ সেপ্টেম্বর) বিকাল সাড়ে ৩টার দিকে এ ঘটনা ঘটে। পরে তাদের উদ্ধার করে ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ (ঢামেক) হাসপাতালে জরুরি বিভাগে ভর্তি করা হয়।

আহতদের মধ্যে চারজনই তৃতীয় লিঙ্গের মানুষ। তারা হলেন- রশিয়া (১৮), কমলা (১৯), লিজা (২০) ও রুমি (২১)। অন্য দুজন হকার সদস্য। তারা হলেন- আবদুল আজিজ হাবিব (২৫) ও মো. ফেরদৌস (২১)।

হিজড়া ও ট্রান্সজেন্ডার জনগোষ্ঠীর প্রতি বৈষম্য রোধ এবং যৌন ও প্রজননস্বাস্থ্য সুরক্ষা

বর্তমান সময়ে একটা সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠ হিজড়া কমিউনিটি তৈরি হয়েছে, যারা ভিক্ষাবৃত্তি করতে চায় না। এসব মানুষ কাজ বা চাকরি করতে চান। সমাজে বৈষম্য রোধ করতে চাইলে নারী-পুরুষের পাশাপাশি ট্রান্সজেন্ডার মানুষদের নিয়ে আসতে হবে। এমন কর্মক্ষেত্র তৈরি করতে হবে, যেখানে আমরা ট্রান্সজেন্ডার মানুষেরা সহজে যুক্ত হতে পারব। কর্মক্ষেত্রে একটি সহনশীল পরিস্থিতি তৈরি হলে এ বৈষম্য এমনিতেই কমে যাবে। তখন শিক্ষা ও পারিবারিক সহায়তা বিষয়টি আসবে। মানুষের মানবিক গুণাবলি পরিবার থেকেই তৈরি হয়। সে জন্য বৈষম্য রোধে পরিবারের সমর্থন, শিক্ষা ও চাকরির ব্যবস্থা করা জরুরি। ট্রান্সজেন্ডার মানুষের যৌন ও প্রজননস্বাস্থ্যের বিষয়েও গুরুত্ব দেওয়া প্রয়োজন। দেশের বাইরে আমাদের জনগোষ্ঠীর অনেকে যৌন পেশার সঙ্গে জড়িত। অনিরাপদ যৌনকাজ করতে হচ্ছে তাঁদের। এইচআইভি/এইডসের ঝুঁকিতে আছেন তাঁরা। ওই ব্যক্তিরা যখন দেশে ফিরবেন, তখন তাঁরা দেশকেও ঝুঁকিতে ফেলবেন। সে জন্য বিমানবন্দরে তাঁদের জন্য এইচআইভি শনাক্তকরণ নিশ্চিত করা প্রয়োজন।

বাগদত্তার অপহরণ ফাঁদে আইনজীবী

আইনজীবী আবু হেনা মোস্তফা কামাল ওরফে মিলন অপহরণ ও মুক্তিপণ আদায় মামলায় হাবিব মিলন রাজকে আটক করেছে যশোর পুলিশ ব্যুরো অব ইনভেস্টিগেশন (পিবিআই)। আটকের পর তাকে আদালতে সোপর্দ করা হলে ঘটনার সাথে জড়িত ও অপর জড়িত আসামিদের নাম উল্লেখ করে স্বীকারোক্তিমূলক জবানবন্দি দিয়েছেন।

চাঁদাবাজির অভিযোগে ৪ হিজড়া গ্রেপ্তার

রিবহনের চাঁদাবাজির অভিযোগে চার হিজড়াকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে ঢাকা মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশ উত্তরা পশ্চিম থানা। শনিবার (৩ সেপ্টেম্বর) উত্তরা ৭ নম্বর সেক্টরের বিএনএস টাওয়ারের সামনে থেকে তাদের গ্রেফতার করা হয়। গ্রেপ্তারকৃতরা হলো মৌসুমী (৩২), অনিকা (২৯), তুলি (২৪) ও দুলী (২৫)।

উত্তরা পশ্চিম থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা মহসিন গণমাধ্যমকে বলেন, গ্রেপ্তারকৃতরা দীর্ঘদিন ধরে এ এলাকায় বিভিন্ন যানবাহনে চাঁদাবাজি করতো। চাঁদা না দিলে তারা আপত্তিকর আচরণ করতো।

গাজীপুরে আদালত প্রাঙ্গনে এক মামলার বিবাদী ও বিবাদী পক্ষের আইজীবীর বিরুদ্ধে বাদি ও বাদি পক্ষের আইনজীবীকে হামলার অভিযোগ পাওয়া গেছে।গত সোমবার দুপুরে এ ঘটনা ঘটেছে। এ ব্যাপারে ভিক্টিমরা সোমবার ঘটনার তদন্ত উপযুক্ত বিচার চেয়ে গাজীপুর আইনজীবী সমিতি ও সদর থানায় লিখিত অভিযোগ করেছেন।

হিজরা সদস্যরা পাবেন ওএমএসে অগ্রাধিকার

তৃতীয় লিঙ্গের (হিজরা) সদস্যরা ওএমএস কার্যক্রমে অগ্রাধিকার পাবেন বলে জানিয়েছেন খাদ্যমন্ত্রী সাধন চন্দ্র মজুমদার।
