The court also acquitted one Ashutosh Bapery as the charge against him was not proved during the trial.
Judge of the Khulna Metropolitan Session Judge Court Mahmuda Khatun pronounced the verdict against them in presence of all the accused.
The judge also fined Tk30,000 each. In default, they will have to suffer more six months rigorous imprisonment.
The court sources said the accused hit Khan Ibne Zaman on the head, strangulated him, tied his legs and hands with rope at his residence at Khalishpur area in Khulna on October 13 in 2013.

On January 14, 2009, the investigating officer of the case, Inspector Nikhil Chandra Mandal of the Detective Police (DB), gave the charge sheet to the court accusing the 3 people. The chargesheet said that Khan Ibn Zaman was a homosexual gay man and the accused killed him when they was forced to perform homosexuality.
On June 3, 2009, the plaintiff filed an objection against the charge sheet in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court. On August 27 that year, the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate directed the CID to investigate the case further.
After further investigation of the case on September 22, 2010, the investigating officer SI Abdul Ghafoor of CID gave the charge sheet to the court accusing 4 people. The accused included in the charge sheet were Sheikh Tyebur Rahman, Apurba Kumar Biswas, Md. Sohag and Ashutosh are shopkeepers.
Prominent lawyer and human rights defender advocate Shahanur Islam is happy with the judgement pronounced by the court. He thinks though it have taken around 14 years to end the lower court judgement, this kind of exemplary punishment will help to reduce violence against LGBT people in Bangladesh.
He also urges to state prosecution to take proper step to establish the judgement in higher court if the convicts file the appeal.

খুলনা মহানগর আওয়ামী লীগের সাবেক যুগ্ম সম্পাদক খান ইবনে জামান হত্যা মামলায় ৩ জনের যাবজ্জীবন দিয়েছে আদালত।
একই সঙ্গে তাদের প্রত্যেককে ৩০ হাজার টাকা জরিমানা, অনাদায়ে আরও ৬ মাসের বিনাশ্রম কারাদণ্ড দেয়া হয়েছে।
হত্যার ১৪ বছর পর খুলনা মহানগর দায়রা জজ আদালতের বিচারক মাহমুদা খাতুন সোমবার দুপুরে এ রায় ঘোষণা করেন।
সাজা পাওয়ারা হলেন, শেখ তৈয়েবুর রহমান ওরফে ইরান, অপূর্ব কুমার বিশ্বাস ও মো. সোহাগ শেখ। খালাস পেয়েছেন আসামি আশুতোষ ব্যাপারী। রায় ঘোষণার সময় আসামিরা আদালতে উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
মহানগর দায়রা জজ আদালতের রাষ্ট্রপক্ষের আইনজীবী কে এম ইকবাল হোসেন নিউজবাংলাকে এসব তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেছেন।
তিনি জানান, ২০০৮ সালের ১৩ অক্টোবর রাতে নগরীর খালিশপুরে নিজ বাড়িতে শ্বাসরোধ ও মাথায় আঘাত করে আওয়ামী লীগ নেতা খান ইবনে জামানকে হত্যা করে দুর্বৃত্তরা। তার দুই পা দড়ি দিয়ে এবং হাত একটি লুঙ্গি দিয়ে বাঁধা ছিল। এই ঘটনায় নিহতের ভাই মো. শাহাব উদ্দিন খান ১৪ অক্টোবর অজ্ঞাতপরিচয় দুর্বৃত্তদের আসামি করে খালিশপুর থানায় মামলা করেন।
২০০৮ সালের ২১ অক্টোবর র্যাব সদস্যরা হত্যায় জড়িত অভিযোগে শেখ তৈয়েবুর রহমান ওরফে ইরান, অপূর্ব কুমার বিশ্বাস ওরফে অপু ও মো. সোহাগ নামে তিন যুবককে গ্রেপ্তার করে। তারা জামানকে হত্যা করে বলে ওই দিন আদালতে স্বীকারোক্তিমূলক জবানবন্দি দেন।
২০০৯ সালের ১৪ জানুয়ারি মামলার তদন্ত কর্মকর্তা গোয়েন্দা পুলিশের (ডিবি) ইন্সপেক্টর নিখিল চন্দ্র মণ্ডল ওই ৩ জনকে আসামি করে আদালতে চার্জশিট দেন। চার্জশিটে বলা হয়, খান ইবনে জামান চিরকুমার এবং সমকামী ছিলেন। তিনি জোর করে সমকামিতা করতে গেলে আসামিরা তাকে হত্যা করে।
২০০৯ সালের ৩ জুন মামলার বাদী মুখ্য মহানগর হাকিম আদালতে চার্জশিটের বিরুদ্ধে নারাজি দেন। ওই বছরের ২৭ আগস্ট মুখ্য মহানগর হাকিম মামলাটি অধিকতর তদন্তের জন্য সিআইডিকে নির্দেশ দেন।
২০১০ সালের ২২ সেপ্টেম্বর মামলার অধিকতর তদন্ত শেষে তদন্ত কর্মকর্তা সিআইডির এসআই আবদুল গফুর ৪ জনকে আসামি করে আদালতে চার্জশিট দেন। চার্জশিটভুক্ত আসামিরা ছিলেন শেখ তৈয়েবুর রহমান, অপূর্ব কুমার বিশ্বাস, মো. সোহাগ ও আশুতোষ ব্যাপারী।
