Human rights organization JusticeMakers Bangladesh has expressed its heartiest welcome for the recent decision of learned Metropolitan Magistrate Devdas Chandra Adhikari to acquit four transgender who were falsely accused of extortion.

Simultaneously, JusticeMakers Bangladesh demanded immediate and appropriate compensation for the arbitrary arrest and detention of those sexual minority transgender people in Bangladesh whose fundamental human rights were violated.

রাজশাহীতে হিজড়া সর্দারের বিরুদ্ধে আদায়কৃত অর্থ আত্মসাত মারপিটে অভিযোগ

রাজশাহীতে এক হিজড়া সর্দারের বিরুদ্ধে আদায়কৃত অর্থ আত্মসাৎসহ শিষ্যদের সাথে দুর্ব্যবহার ও মারধরের অভিযোগ পাওয়া গেছে। রবিবার এমন অভিযোগে নিয়ে রাজশাহী মহানগরীর বোয়ালিয়াসহ বিভিন্ন থানায় উপস্থিত হয়ে হিজড়া ক্ষো ভপ্রকাশ করেছেন ওই হিজড়া সর্দারের বিরুদ্ধে।

অভিযুক্ত ওই হিজড়া সর্দারের নাম আকরাম হোসেন ওরফে হীরা। হীরা চারঘাট থানা দিন শলুয়া ইউনিয়নের খোকা পরামানিকের সন্তান। বর্তমানে তিনি রাজশাহী নগরীর মতিহার থানার পেছনে নিজ বাড়িতে স্ত্রী-সন্তান ও নাতি নিয়ে বসবাস করেন।

সম্পত্তির ভাগ পাবেন হিজড়ারাও

রুপসা তৃতীয় লিঙ্গের একজন মানুষ। তার এক ভাই, দুই বোন। হিজড়া হওয়ায় অল্প বয়সেই বাড়ি থেকে বের হতে হয় তাকে। সম্প্রতি তার ভাই-বোনরা মুসলিম উত্তরাধিকার আইন অনুযায়ী সম্পত্তির ভাগ পেয়েছেন। রুপসাও তার বাবার কাছে গিয়ে সম্পত্তির ভাগ চেয়েছেন। বাবা তাকে স্পষ্ট জানিয়ে দিয়েছেন, যেহেতু লিঙ্গ পরিচয় নেই তাই তাকে সম্পত্তি দেয়া সম্ভব নয়। ভাই-বোনরাও মারধর করে তাকে বের করে দিয়েছে। হিজড়া হওয়ার কারণে বাবা-মায়ের সম্পত্তি থেকে বঞ্চিত হয়েছেন রুপসা। সম্পত্তির ভাগ চেয়ে আন্দোলনও করেছেন। লাভ হয়নি। মামলা করে কোন লাভ হবে না- এমন ধারণা থেকে তিনি আইনগত পদক্ষেপও নেননি। বাংলাদেশে হিজড়ারা তাদের বাবা-মায়ের সম্পত্তির ভাগ পাচ্ছেন না। বর্তমান সরকার হিজড়াদের তাদের বাবা-মায়ের সম্পত্তির ভাগ দেয়ার উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে। প্রথমে ডাক্তারী পরীক্ষার মাধ্যমে আসল ও নকল হিজড়া শনাক্ত করা হবে। এরপর প্রয়োজনে ডিএনএ পরীক্ষা করে একজন হিজড়ার শরীরে পুরুষ হরমোন রয়েছে, নাকি নারী হরমোন রয়েছে সেটি নিশ্চিত করা হবে। যদি জেনেটিক দিক দিয়ে ছেলে হয়, তাহলে তাকে মুসলিম শরিয়া আইন এবং সংবিধানের আলোকে ছেলে হিসেবে সম্পত্তির ভাগ দেয়া হবে। আর মেয়ে হলে সেই আলোকেই সম্পত্তির ভাগ দেয়া হবে।

The news published on September 21, 2022 in various newspapers including the online version of Ekatar TV, Daily Jugantar and BanglaNews24.com sated that a girl married another girl in Hatbari village of Doyle Union in Sarishabari, Jamalpur. Local peoples have handed over two young girls and their two accomplices to the police on charges of same-sex marriage.
